The Timberwolves stopped a conference finals double sweep by escaping Dallas with a win last night. The NBA Finals start on June 6th no matter when the series ends, so Minnesota’s win prevented an exceptionally long break in NBA action. The Celtics are going to have eight full days off, which gives Kristaps Porzingis (who hasn’t played since April 29th) more time to get healthy. The Mavericks have a chance to get a significant break as well, as they head to Minnesota — where the Timberwolves have been awful in the playoffs — with a chance to close out the series on Thursday.

Because of the Celtics’ sweep, there’s no NBA action on the schedule. So we’re all-MLB in today’s newsletter. Malcolm is all over Shota Imanaga’s start and is looking for strikeouts from him and a quiet first inning overall in the Cubs/Brewers matchup.
